I spend most of my time chasing down words that feel human and make sense.

Currently, I’m based on Boston’s North Shore, but I lived for a couple years in the California desert while earning my MFA in creative writing from UC Riverside. Still working on that novel.

These days I teach college writing and literature, but I’ve had rewarding stints as a magazine editor, copywriter, podcaster, and researcher. My literary essays and interviews have been published in the Los Angeles Review of Books, Zyzzyva, and The Millions, and they’ve covered subjects ranging from elephant conservation to Ukrainian-American politics to the longest book I’ve ever read.

Above all, I’m just a curious person.
